renewables’ plan for a pioneering wave power scheme on the
Scottish island of Lewis has been given the green light –
making it the largest consented project of its kind.

Government Minister for Enterprise, Energy and Tourism today
officially started the new Wavegen 100kW turbine which will
be deployed in future wave energy projects worldwide.
A new
wave power station on the Isle of Lewis, one of the first in
the world, moves a step closer today (23 April 08) as npower
renewables submits a planning application for the
ground-breaking scheme.
